Wallingford Regatta, at Dorney Lake, Eton, was again arranged in morning and afternon divisions, so athletes wishing to enter two events could do so without interrupting the 12-race-a-minute 11-hour timetable.

Britain's top rowers were absent for Olympic training, although Molesey Boat Club - with 45 entries - were abe to field two distinguished Olympians in their winning Elite Coxless Four.
